A respected educator, Erin Banholzer is a member of the oboe faculty at the University of Delaware School of Music.  She previously served on faculty at Rutgers University from 2016-2022.  She has presented masterclasses at several institutions including Northwestern University, the Cleveland Institute of Music, New York University, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  

 

With over a decade of experience, she teaches oboe, English horn, and reed making lessons to students of all ages and abilities through her private studio.  She also founded and leads the University of Delaware CMS Oboe Reed Making Seminar—a workshop for middle and high school students interested in developing their reed making skills.  

 

Actively involved in her community, Dr. Banholzer leads area clinics and masterclasses at local schools throughout Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.  She also served as woodwind sectionals coach and chamber music coordinator at the Youth Orchestra of Central Jersey for five seasons.  

 

Dr. Banholzer’s students have been accepted to collegiate music programs, region band competition ensembles, and national and international music festivals.  Her teaching philosophy emphasizes fundamental development, while also focusing on musicianship training, creative exploration, and performing.
