Producing

Applauded for her meticulous attention to detail, exceptional ear, and excellent organizational ability, Erin Banholzer has quickly become a sought-after producer in the classical music industry.  She has collaborated with musicians from the New York Philharmonic, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and Zurich Opera Orchestra, among others.   Equally interested in new and historical performance, Banholzer has also produced several albums featuring leading scholars in the early music industry.  Reviews from American Record Guide, Early Music America, and other publications point out the effortless and inventive musical style present in recordings.

With a doctorate degree in oboe performance, Banholzer brings the perspective of a performer to sessions.  She maintains respect for performers’ own musical ideas while also cultivating dialogue about musical decisions throughout the session and the post-production editing process.  Her collegial involvement with musicians throughout every step of the process from score study prior to the session all the way to the release of the recording has forged lasting relationships with performers who frequently return for additional projects.

"Erin Banholzer has served as producer for four recording projects in which I've been involved, and there is no question that she facilitated the best music-making possible. Her excellent musicianship, keen ear, close attention to detail, meticulous organization, clear communication, and unflappable, even joyful demeanor make her an absolute pleasure to work with. In the high-pressure situation of making a recording, there is no one whom I'd rather have at the helm."
